Having Backlinks is important to show your site's strength, but stay away from paid, or low quality links!
If you have a website there is no doubt that you have tried to build links. These backlinks for a time were a good way to have search engines pick up your site, and show you had connections. However what developed from this is not quality backlinks, but "Paid" backlinks, which usually came from "Spam" website.
